Tutoring
-The Barton Reading and Spelling System was designed for parents to be able to work with their own children and is extremely user friendly.
-Training, supplies, and support will be provided for anyone willing to learn and work with a student.

Volunteer Tutor Training
- Anyone can become a Barton Tutor
- You must first pass a 5 minute screening.
- Training Seminars are offered periodically throughout the year
- Consider helping an area student in need by donating 2-3 hours a week of your time to a struggling student
*LSTC operates a bit differently than your traditional tutoring center. Since we are a non profit organization and charge no fees for our services, we utilize volunteer tutors comprised of community members and concerned family members to provide one on one tutoring to our struggling students. All students must be prescreened by our dyslexia consultant prior to being approved for the program. All tutors must attend an initial training seminar prior to beginning to work with a student.
Due to the high demand for volunteer tutors, we may ask that you do your part to help find someone willing to work with your child. This could be a family member, neighbor, friend, fellow church member, or yourself. We will provide all the training and support for that individual.
